Day 1 (Friday) Arrive Vilnius
Arrival in Vilnius. Transfer to the hotel not included. Check-in at Hotel Novotel Vilnius Centre**** or similar. 7:00 p.m. welcome meeting at the hotel with your tour guide or Vytis Tours representative.
Day 2 (Saturday) Vilnius-Trakai-Vilnius
After breakfast, you begin the day with a city tour of Vilnius, Lithuania’s capital for more than 600 years. The tour includes the following; St. Peter and Paul’s Church, Gediminas Castle, Cathedral Square with St. Stanislaw Cathedral and Bell tower, Bernardine Garden, St.Ann and Bernardines’ Church, Amber gallery-museum including tasting of amber vodka, Užupis -one of the oldest districts of Vilnius, mentioned in the historical sources as far back as the 16th century, nowadays the artists’ “republic”, which has its own constitution, national anthem, calendar and map. The tour continues with a short photo stop of the Subacius street where you can see a view of the old town from the observation deck. Visit the Gates of Dawn with a holy image of the Virgin Mary, the Russian Orthodox Church of the Holy Spirit, Town Hall Square, Vilnius University (founded in 1579) and St. John’s Church. In the afternoon, you depart for the 14th century castle of Trakai that was erected on a small island on Lake Galve. From there you will visit Uzutrakis manor ensemble. The famous European landscape architect and botanist E. F. Andre created the original Uzutrakis park in a centennial forest – and interconnected pond system, displaying it’s all beauty from the mansion’s terrace. return to Vilnius.
Day 3 (Sunday) Vilnius-Riga
After breakfast you will have some free time in Vilnius. In the afternoon, you will get to Vilnius bus station on your own. Transfer to Riga by regular bus. Arrive Riga where you will get to your hotel on your own. Check-in at Hotel Radisson Blu Latvija**** or similar.
Day 4 (Monday) Riga
A combined coach and walking tour encompasses the most significant sights of Riga. Driving along the central boulevards of Riga, enjoy the view of the City Canal Parks, the Bastion Hill, the Powder Tower, the Latvian National Theatre, the Fine Arts Museum, the Art Nouveau Buildings of the beginning of the 20th century, the Freedom Monument, University of Latvia, Latvian National Opera House and the Daugava River. During the walking part of the tour, you will enjoy the beauty of this ancient Hanseatic City. You will see the picturesque streets of the Old Town, the Dome Cathedral, the Church of St.Peter, the old Guild Houses, the Swedish Gate, St.Jacob’s Church, the Parliament House, and the Old Riga Castle. After, visit the famous market halls of Riga. In the afternoon, there is an OPTIONAL tour to Jurmala. Stretching over some 15 miles of coastline Jurmala is an internationally celebrated spa and a popular destination for day outings. People from all over the world come to enjoy Jurmala’s clean air, temperate climate, curative mineral springs and mud baths, all in the setting of a virgin pine forest. Return to Riga.
Day 5 (Tuesday) Riga-Tallinn
After breakfast you will have some free time in Riga. In the afternoon, you will get to Riga bus station on your own. Transfer to Tallinn by regular bus. Arrive Tallinn where you will get to your hotel on your own. Check-in at Hotel Sokos Viru**** or similar.
Day 6 (Wednesday) Tallinn
The morning will start off with a sightseeing tour of Tallinn, Estonia’s capital. This picturesque old city has districts dating back to the Middle Ages that are still intact today. We’ll begin in the Old Town with its narrow streets and beautiful merchant houses exemplifying the best of Gothic architecture in the Baltic and Nordic countries. The tour includes Toompea Castle fortifications, the 13th century Dome Church, the 19th century Russian Orthodox Cathedral of Alexander Nevskij, the 15th century Town Hall Square, St. Catherine’s Passage, where artists of St. Catherine guild present their work, and St. Olaf’s Church. Continue to Marzipan museum. The marzipan museum room gives a good overview of the history of marzipan. The exhibition displays approximately 200 marzipan figurines, cards and cakes, which have been made with moulds that are more than a hundred years old. At the museum, you can also observe the art of marzipan painting. In the afternoon, there is an OPTIONAL tour to Kadriorg Park and a visit to Kadriorg Palace. This palace was discovered in 1721 by the Russian emperor Peter the Great. It was a gift for his wife, Catherine II, to use as their summer palace.
Day 7 (Thursday) Tallinn Departure
Transfer to airport will be on your own.
